1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern attendance and participation in events (“Event”, “Events”), organised by the World Federation of Advertisers (“WFA”, “we” or “us”). By registering for, purchasing, or holding a ticket (“Ticket”), you (“Attendee”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and the separate Event Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, do not register for or attend an Event.
These Terms take precedence over any conflicting provisions in the Code of Conduct. We may amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Updated versions will be posted on our website at https://wfanet.org/ ("Website") and take immediate effect. Continued attendance at or participation in an Event after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Ticket Sales and Admittance
- Tickets for WFA Events are free of charge for global or regional marketers from a company in WFA membership. WFA members must register using their company email address.
- Non-members are not permitted to attend WFA Events unless expressly invited by WFA (e.g., as speakers, guests or partners). Exceptionally, non-members can purchase tickets for the Global Marketer Conference (part of Global Marketer Week).
- WFA may review all registration information and cancel or amend a registration if it determines that information provided is false, misleading, or incomplete.
- Tickets are non-transferrable. Transfers require prior written consent from WFA, which may be withheld at its sole discretion.
- Admission to an Event requires valid identification and confirmation of registration.
- WFA may refuse entry to or remove any Attendee from an Event at its discretion, including for safety, security or non-compliance with these Terms.
3. Safety and Code of Conduct
- WFA is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment. Attendees must conduct themselves professionally in accordance with the Event Code of Conduct.
- Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Breach of the Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the Event without compensation.
- If you experience or witness a violation, notify WFA staff immediately or contact events@wfanet.org. Reports will be handled confidentially.
- Prohibited items include weapons, illegal drugs and any dangerous materials. WFA may involve venue security or law enforcement if necessary.
- WFA is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to personal property, nor for any personal or financial damages incurred in connection with attendance at an Event.
4. Use of Photographic and Video Material
- By attending a WFA Event, you acknowledge that WFA may hire service providers to document the Event and that such documentation may include your image, likeness or voice. You grant us the irrevocable right to use, edit, and distribute any such content for marketing, promotional and other lawful purposes without compensation or credit to you. This consent includes, but is not limited to, being filmed, photographed and recorded for television, radio, webcast and other public broadcasts in any medium, as well as for security purposes via CCTV.
- Other attendees may also capture your images or recordings in various multimedia formats. WFA is not responsible for such activity.
- If WFA uses a third-party platform (e.g. AI-powered event photography services), you may be offered the option to use facial recognition to retrieve your photos. Consent is voluntary and not a condition of attendance. You may withdraw consent and request deletion of your data at any time.
5. Event Cancellation or Postponement
- WFA may cancel or postpone an Event at its sole discretion, including for reasons outside its control ("Force Majeure"), such events include, but are not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, civil disturbances, epidemics, natural disasters, strikes, labor disputes, government regulations, transportation issues, the unavailability of the Event venue or any other cause beyond WFA’s reasonable control.
- In the event of cancellation or postponement, WFA will post a notice on its Website and use reasonable efforts to notify registered Attendees by email.
- If an Event is cancelled for reasons other than Force Majeure, WFA’s sole liability is limited to refunding any Ticket fees paid (if applicable). WFA is not liable for travel, accommodation or other incidental costs incurred.
6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- For residents of the European Union: these Terms are governed by the laws of your EU country of residence and disputes shall be submitted to its courts.
- For all other Attendees: these Terms are governed by Belgian law and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
- If any provision of these Terms is found invalid by a competent court, the remaining provisions will remain in force.
7. Data Protection
- WFA is the Data Controller of personal data collected for Event purposes. Data collected includes name, job title, company, and email address, used for registration, administration, security, communications and related Event purposes in accordance with WFA’s Privacy Policy.
- Processing will comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

- By registering for an Event, you consent our collecting of your personal data, including but not limited to your name, job title, company, email address for verification and storage. Your personal data will be used by in accordance with our Privacy Policy (as amended from time to time), which is available on WFA’s Website.
- We are the Data Controller of all personal data collected in connection with our Events. As such, we are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We may use your personal data in any manner we deem appropriate, subject to your granted consents under GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless WFA, its directors, officers, employees and agents and keep each of them fully and effectively indemnified against any and all losses, damages or liabilities imposed on, incurred by or asserted against them arising from your breach of these Terms.
